COVID Update May 2020 (2)

Non- Contact Training has resumed! Watch for communications from the Club and your coach about your timeslot and zone.

We ask that everyone helps us to comply to with the regulations for training. We must all be diligent.

When you arrive, a reminder:

  • Arrive JUST before your scheduled time, not early and wait to go to your zones until after the team before you has cleared the area.

  • Go straight to the zone your coach has told you is your training zone for the week.

  • We need to record all attendees

  • Leave straight after the session from your zones, don't congregate together after training

  • Bring your own drink bottle and take to your zone

  • If you are sick or feeling unwell, please stay home

  • Parents to ensure social distancing followed

  • We encourage downloading and use of COVID Safe App

The Coaches are well prepared and we have Committee members on hand to help everyone through the next 2-3 weeks.

Coaches are starting to communicate with teams/squads and this will increase in coming weeks as we get further into training.  Look out for that.

Reminder, Powerhouse Sports a great supporter of the club on The Parade for Footy boots etc, and Performance Mouthguards a sponsor for custom mouthguards.

With the resumption we have had a few people make the decision not to play.  That has created a few spots in U9 boys, U10 boys, U12 boys, U14 boys, U16.5 boys, U18 girls.  We are always looking for senior players as well.  So if you know people who are interested please put them in touch with our Registrar Paul Grund at registrar@glenungarams.com or 0419 842 071.

Cheers

COVID Update May 2020 (1)

With most schools back now and cases remaining low in South Australia over recent weeks, we are all feeling hopeful that advice from the SANFL will come soon to give us more clarity on the future of the 2020 season.

This is a short note, to let you know that the Training T shirts from the initial discounted order have arrived and have been distributed to your Age group coordinators and coaches.  They will be in touch shortly, if they haven't already, to arrange collection or drop off to those who ordered.

The main merchandise portal orders are starting to arrive and as soon as all of the stock is on hand we will send you a note and distribute

as per the Training T shirts.

The Committee has been busy over recent weeks, starting to pack out the new Junior team kit bags with Guernseys, cones, balls, vests etc so that we are ready to get going quickly when that advice comes.  The ovals are looking as good as they ever have.

Please continue to follow regular communications through our Facebook and Instagram posts.

Our sponsors continue to provide great value for our members.  In my next note Ill provide more details about all of our sponsors so you can support those that continue to enable us to provide the experience at the Rams that we love.

Fingers crossed.

Covid Update April 2020

We really do hope all of our Glenunga FC families are coping through this period of isolation.  It is unprecedented times and we know that you will all be affected in a range of different ways, as have all sporting clubs like ours.

COVID-19 update

SANFL Community football released an update on Friday, which outlined a more positive sentiment regarding our chances of resuming this year than perhaps we all thought a few weeks ago.  We will continue to work closely with both SANFL Juniors and the Adelaide Football League and we will provide updates as soon as we know more about any resumption of training and dates for matches.

We encourage you all to keep doing what you can in your backyard or down at the local park to stay in touch with footy.  There are plenty of videos out there that you can look at to give you some tips for keeping the kids active at home and still learning basic skills.

Our business partners

Our sponsors remain so important to our club and we will continue to profile them actively through Facebook (Glenunga Football Club) and Instagram (@glenungaramsfc).  Please connect through those channels to keep updated and support those business that really support our club.

BankSA have come on board to support the Rams this year.  Whether you are looking to re-finance, get a loan for a new home loan or business loan, we suggest you to get in touch with David Brownie from BankSA.  You can contact him on 0466 404 074 or at david.brownie@banksa.com.au

Our sponsorship manager Tom Ainscough (0404 895 228) has got a great deal for you personally if you do take up the BankSA offer.  CALL him, it will be worth your while!!!

Merchandise

Our suppliers have had challenges with production and importing gear, but we expect to have the initial order of training T shirts over the next week or so.  Nelson Teamwear (one of our great club sponsors and great clubmen, Ben Nelson) has been working overtime to make sure that we get priority service.  As soon as it arrives, we will sort and bag up by each team and get your coaches to provide a delivery service so at least you can use the Rams gear while having a kick.

The new guernseys are imminent and the rest of the first portal merchandise order will be with us in late May, so just like the training T shirts, we will get to you as soon as it arrives.

Senior Coach

John (JC) Cunningham, our 2019 A grade premiership coach, and U16 girls coach, has agreed to step aside given the difficulties associated with the Coronavirus and business commitments.  JC did a fantastic job and led us to Division 2 and we are very grateful for the job JC has done and continues to do with the junior girls program.

Our 3 time premiership captain, Andy Read, has stepped up to lead the senior program for the rest of 2020 and will work closely with our Senior Football Director (Rocky Butterworth) and other senior coaches (Mick Beech and Shane Selway) and senior players Michael MacMahon and Alex Haren to make sure it is a successful one.

The Committee is continuing to work behind the scenes to make sure we are ready to go at short notice and make the experience a great one for all of you.

Just imagine how big the post COVID-19 reunion is going to be.  Webb Oval has never looked so green or in such good condition and will be ready and raring to go.  Not sure about you, but we are dreaming of that first week we can get back to the club and share a drink with you all and watch some great footy.  Cant wait!

Best regards
