SENIOR MEN’S COACH: ALEX GUY
The Glenunga Football Club is pleased to announce the appointment of Alex Guy as our 2025 Men’s A Grade Coach.
Alex brings a wealth of experience to the role.
Having spent five years at Sturt, including two as an SANFL assistant, he subsequently led Athelstone from third-bottom to back-to-back finals. The club now believes he can take the Rams one step further in 2025.
Outgoing senior coach Nathan Grima has thrown his full support behind his successor. “I believe Alex will be an unbelievable A Grade coach, and he’s already been in the Glenunga system now for a year,” Grima said.
Alex Guy said it was an honour be afforded the opportunity as the club strives towards its first Division 1 Premiership. “Having fallen just short on a couple of occasions, I’m looking forward to continuing Nathan’s work with a group that’s hungry for success.”
SENIOR 'A' GRADE ASSISTANT COACH: SAM SMITH
Returning to the club after his time with Glenelg in the SANFL, Sam Smith will join Alex in leading the A Grade coaching team. With experience in the NTFL and Sturt, Sam is well-versed in the Rams' coaching philosophy and familiar with the playing group. His expertise will be invaluable as we push to go one step further in 2025.
RESERVES 'B' GRADE COACH: SAM ABELL
Glenunga welcomes back Sam Abell to return as the Reserves Coach after a successful debut coaching season in 2024. Under Sam's first year in charge, the Glenunga Reserves team made the 2024 Grand Final, having previously made the 2023 Grand Final.
Sam remains a current player for the club and is a life member, having played over 250 games across his senior career.
He is a former A Grade best and fairest club champion, and has 3 A grade flags with Glenunga in 2017, 2018 and 2019 as a player.
C GRADE COACH: BRAD DALGLISH
The club is proud to announce the appointment of Brad Dalglish as Coach of the Men’s C grade side.
Brad plays an integral role on match days across the coaching panel.
